Development Process

How We Move From Idea to Delivery

Each project follows a structured workflow with clear milestones, so every stakeholder knows where things stand

1

Requirement Review & Feasibility

Share your target specifications, reference photos, technical drawings (CAD, PDF), finish samples, or annotated images of your desired product direction. Our engineering team reviews every detail for manufacturability, material availability, tooling requirements, and production feasibility.

What We Deliver
  • Feasibility assessment
  • Material & process recommendations
  • Estimated development timeline
  • Clarification questions if needed
2

Engineering & Specification Alignment

We align on critical build parameters: neck profile shape and thickness, fret size and material, fingerboard radius, nut width, peg-hole diameter, body routing configuration, finish type and color target, hardware plating standard, logo application method, and packaging structure. Every detail is documented before sampling begins to eliminate guesswork downstream.

What We Deliver
  • Detailed specification sheet
  • Construction & finish plan
  • Logo & branding placement guide
  • Packaging concept confirmation
3

Prototype Sampling & Revision

We produce development samples for your review. Each sample includes detailed documentation of the construction, materials, and finish used. You evaluate the sample, provide feedback, and we revise until the result matches your expectation. This iterative cycle continues until you sign off on the confirmation sample that becomes the production reference standard.

What We Deliver
  • Development samples (2-5 units)
  • Sample documentation card
  • Revision tracking & notes
  • Confirmation sample for sign-off
4

Production Planning & Material Preparation

Once the confirmation sample is approved, we move into production planning. This includes material procurement and inspection, CNC programming and fixture preparation, finishing schedule sequencing, hardware and component kitting, packaging material production, and shipment booking coordination. A production timeline with key milestones is shared with your team.

What We Deliver
  • Production schedule with milestones
  • Material inspection reports
  • In-process QC checkpoint plan
  • Packaging production confirmation
5

Multi-Stage Quality Inspection

Quality control is not a single end-of-line check. We inspect at multiple stages: incoming material inspection, in-process machining checks, post-finish appearance review, assembly fit verification, and final pre-packing inspection. Each batch includes an inspection card. Critical dimensions (neck angle, fret level, pocket fit, peg-hole alignment) are verified against the approved spec.

What We Deliver
  • Inspection reports per batch
  • Dimension verification data
  • Appearance & finish sign-off
  • Defect tracking & root cause notes
6

Packaging, Documentation & Delivery

Products are packed according to the approved packaging specification with appropriate protection for the shipping method. We prepare commercial documentation (invoice, packing list, certificate of origin if required), coordinate with your forwarder or ours, and track the shipment through to delivery. Post-delivery feedback is welcomed for continuous improvement.

What We Deliver
  • Packed & labeled shipment
  • Commercial documentation package
  • Shipping tracking information
  • Post-delivery follow-up

Quality Assurance

Quality Control and Execution Standards

Consistent quality across production batches comes from documented processes, trained inspectors, and verification at the right stages — not from hoping the final result looks acceptable

Engineering Consistency

Critical build dimensions — neck pocket fit, peg-hole alignment, fret slot accuracy, routing depth, body contour symmetry — are verified against the approved specification sheet at multiple production stages, not just at final inspection.

Project Confidentiality

Your brand artwork, construction details, finish formulas, packaging structures, and customer-specific requirements are treated as confidential project information. We do not share, display, or repurpose OEM client designs without explicit permission.

Finish & Appearance Review

Color accuracy, gloss level, logo execution quality, edge finish, visible surface standards, and overall cosmetic appearance are checked under controlled lighting against the approved reference sample to maintain batch-to-batch consistency.

Material Quality Control

All incoming materials — tonewoods, hardware components, finishing supplies — are inspected before entering production. Wood moisture content, grain orientation, and dimensional accuracy are verified against our material specifications to ensure consistency from the start.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does OEM development take?

Typical development timeline from initial specification to confirmation sample approval is 3-6 weeks, depending on complexity. Factors include: number of custom elements, finish development requirements, logo application method, and revision cycles. Simple projects with clear specifications can move faster.

Can you match an existing neck profile or body shape?

Yes. Send us your reference neck or body, or provide detailed measurements including profile cross-section templates if available. We can reverse-engineer most common profiles and body shapes. For bodies, a physical sample or detailed CAD file produces the best results.

Do you require a minimum order quantity?

We work with brands at different stages. For development and sampling, we support small quantities. For production, we discuss project requirements based on your specific product, customization level, and target timeline. Contact us to discuss your situation.

What finish types can you produce?

We offer polyester (high-durability gloss), polyurethane (satin, matte, gloss), and nitrocellulose (vintage-style thin finish). Color options include solid, metallic, sparkle, candy, burst (2-tone, 3-tone, tobacco), vintage tint, and relic-style. We match to Pantone, RAL, or your physical sample.

How do you handle international shipping?

We coordinate sea freight (FCL/LCL), air freight, and express courier (DHL, FedEx, UPS) based on your volume, timeline, and budget. We prepare commercial invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin. We can ship to your forwarder or arrange door-to-door delivery.

How do you ensure consistent quality across batches?

We use documented specifications as the single source of truth for every batch. In-process inspection checkpoints catch deviations early. Each batch includes inspection records for critical dimensions. The approved confirmation sample serves as the visual reference standard for finish and appearance.

What file formats do you accept for logos and artwork?

Vector formats are preferred: Adobe Illustrator (.ai), EPS, PDF, or CorelDRAW (.cdr). For screen printing, we can also work with high-resolution raster files (PNG, TIFF at 300+ DPI). We review all artwork for production suitability and provide feedback on any adjustments needed.

What is your typical production lead time?

Lead times vary by product type, order volume, and customization requirements. Standard production runs typically range from 4-8 weeks after sample approval. We provide a detailed production schedule with key milestones at the start of each project so you can plan your inventory and launch timeline accordingly.

Shipping & Export Coordination

We coordinate sea freight (FCL/LCL), air freight, and express courier (DHL, FedEx, UPS) based on your volume, timeline, and budget requirements. Our team prepares all commercial documentation including invoices, packing lists, and certificates of origin.

We can ship to your nominated forwarder or arrange door-to-door delivery depending on your preference. Every shipment includes a pre-shipment photo report so you can verify condition and accuracy before the goods leave our facility.

For regular production partners, we support shipment scheduling to maintain consistent inventory flow and reduce lead-time uncertainty across production cycles.

Communication That Works for Product Teams

OEM projects involve multiple stakeholders — product managers, designers, engineers, buyers, and logistics coordinators. Our communication process is built around clear checkpoints, practical updates, and documented decisions that everyone can reference.

We use email for formal documentation, WhatsApp for quick clarifications and photo updates, and video calls for detailed specification reviews and sample evaluations. You always have a direct contact person rather than navigating through multiple departments.

Our team understands the difference between a quick sampling project and a full product line launch. We adapt our communication depth and frequency to match your project stage and your team's preferences.
